As an MSP deeply invested in fostering local business growth and technological advancement, our team at Dolphin were excited for the opportunity to exhibit at the Doncaster Business Showcase 2024.

The Doncaster Business Showcase is an annual event that has long been on our radar. Known for its vibrant atmosphere and the quality of networking opportunities it presents, the showcase seemed the perfect platform for us to demonstrate our commitment to providing top-notch MSP services while engaging with the local business community.

Marking our first time at one of the region’s most esteemed business networking events, the event did not disappoint—it turned out to be a whirlwind of interactions, engagements, and unforgettable experiences.

Preparation for the event was crucial and we loved seeing it all come together. We aimed not just to present our services but to create an experience that would be memorable for attendees. This led to the conception of our “Ballnado Challenge,” an interactive game designed to draw people to our stand and provide a fun, engaging way to learn about our services. The concept was simple yet enticing—a timed challenge where participants had to grab coloured balls worth different points. For the Ballnado Challenge, we had great prizes up for grabs such as an Apple iPad, an overnight stay at Mount Pleasant Hotel and a £75 voucher for Toppings Pies.

Our exhibit was designed around the theme “Juggling Too Much?”— illustrating how businesses often find themselves overwhelmed by the sheer volume of tasks and responsibilities, particularly when it comes to managing their IT infrastructure. Our Ballnado Challenge was more than just an engaging activity; it symbolized the chaotic nature of trying to handle too many things at once and the relief that comes from having a reliable partner to help streamline operations. Through this theme, we aimed to emphasize the role of MSPs in helping businesses run smoother, by taking the IT load off their shoulders, allowing them to focus on their core objectives without getting bogged down by technological complexities.

The day of the showcase arrived, and from the moment the doors opened, we knew we were in for an extraordinary day. The buzz in the air was palpable, and as attendees started flowing in, our stand quickly became a focal point for those curious about the challenge we had set up. The Ballnado Challenge was a hit—drawing in a diverse crowd, from seasoned business professionals to tech enthusiasts, all eager to test their skills. The energy around our stand was infectious, with laughter, cheers, and friendly competition.

Beyond the excitement of the challenge, the event allowed us to engage in meaningful conversations about the needs and challenges local businesses face in today’s digital landscape. We discussed everything from cybersecurity threats to the importance of efficient, scalable IT infrastructures. The feedback we received was incredibly valuable, providing us with insights into how we can tailor our services to better meet the needs of the Doncaster business community.

It total we had over 110 people take on the Ballnado challenge and our camera analytics picked up a traffic of over 3200 people passing our stand throughout the day! To all who visited our stand, participated in our Ballnado Challenge, and took the time to engage with us, we extend our heartfelt thanks.
