A Doncaster firm is helping to revolutionise the operations of a successful local soft fruit farm by installing cutting edge technology in its brand-new processing facility.

Dolphin ICT, an IT solutions company based next to Doncaster Sheffield Airport, has been working with Tasker Partnership in Retford in the major expansion of its operations which includes a new building for cooling, storing and grading fresh raspberries and strawberries.

Tasker Partnership, the leading local grower of top-quality soft fruit for the premium retail markets, has just invested in the new building which now utilises the most up to date cooling systems connected to their own wind turbine. This allows the farm to use the electricity generated on site as efficiently as possible to cool and store the fruit before it is sent to the major supermarkets.

Dolphin ICT has supplied and installed a new network system, computer server, IP Telephones, Door Access Control and CCTV Systems to provide a centralised management system for the secure storage and sharing of critical business data. In addition, further digital security has been put in place to manage staff access between the different food preparation areas ensuring quality control and accreditation with key organisation such as the British Retail Consortium. CCTV cameras have also been installed and a new telephone system is now in operation to improve communication across the business.

Jenny Tasker from Tasker Partnership, said: “This has been a major investment for our business and we are delighted to have worked with Dolphin ICT to get everything up and running and working to our very high standards. IT is at the heart of what we are doing to improve the efficiency and profitability across all areas of the business as we look to grow and expand our operations as much as we can.”

Russell Till, managing director of Dolphin ICT, said: “This has been a really exciting project for us to work on. We are developing a real expertise in the factory environment as we look to help more companies introduce digital solutions to improve their efficiency and productivity.

“At Taskers, we have helped streamline their storage of information, assisted with security and access across the site as well introducing a new phone system and linking up a new product weighing system they have. All these elements will be of huge benefit to the company as they look to continue to build on what they have achieved already.”
